Experiential Learning Programme | Study Visit to Centre for e-Learning, KAU - 2026

As part of the Experiential Learning Programme (ELP) course ELSS 4202: Agricultural Information Support Services, offered by Dept. of Agricultural Extension, CoA Vellanikkara, a group of 24 students from the 8th-semester B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture batch visited the Centre for e-Learning (CeL), Kerala Agricultural University on 4 June 2026. The visit aimed to provide students with hands-on experience and practical exposure to various facets of agricultural communication, including ICT applications, cyber extension tools, and media production.
The session began with a warm welcome and an engaging presentation by Dr. B. Ajithkumar, Director, Centre for e-Learning, who introduced the students to the Centre’s pioneering work in digital extension and e-content development.
Following this, Dr. Akhil Ajith, Institutional Coordinator, CeL, provided an insightful overview of the Centre’s diverse activities and guided the students through the facilities. During the visit, students gained invaluable practical exposure regarding the process of e-content and video production tailored for agricultural extension, management of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and the development of MOOCs and online courses. Digital communication strategies and platforms used to reach the farming community were also discussed.
Students also got a hands-on experience with AR-VR modules developed under ICAR-NAHEP, immersing themselves in the future of interactive education.✨ The visit delivered an inspiring experience, blending technology, creativity, and agricultural sciences — a true reflection of how modern education and digital extension are evolving at KAU to support tomorrow's farming community!
